Analysis
RIM share prices have been extremely volatile the last 3 months. Although RIM is regarded as a stable growth stock, it has shown unprecedented volatility that should be a cause for concern. RIM is expected to be involved in further litigation with Motorola, continuing the trend of uncertainties.
6 Month Outlook - Period Ending Feb 21/08

Analysis
The US market appears to be heading into a recession and as RIM tries to quickly penetrate new, lucrative markets abroad, it is facing stiff competition from manufacturers of other hand held devices.
1 Year Outlook - Period Ending Feb 21/08

Analysis
Over the last year, it is clear that RIM has been strong. It is expected to increase sales over 2008, surpassing projections outlined by analyst’s earlier last year.
Conclusion
RIM has been quite volatile as of late. However, over the last year, with the introduction of the Blackberry Curve, it has been able to capitalize on loyal customers, while attempting to penetrate new, lucrative markets such as China.
I am Bearish on this stock in the short run. I would recommend holding on if you do already have this in your portfolio as sales are expected to be on an upswing later this year.
I would not purchase this right now however, as it is expected that RIM will be in litigation pertaining to copyright infringements with Motorola, the world's leading handheld device manufacturer.
